Kaval vs. Jack Swagger (w/Swagger Soaring Eagle): Kaval uses a unique counter as he is flipping out of an armbar; headstand kicks Swagger in the face. Swagger backs him into the corner and pounds away. Kaval mule kicks off a whip counter. Swagger tosses him to the floor but Kaval was waiting, slides back in the ring and baseball slides Swagger as he goes to the floor. Kaval hits a springboard top rope plancha. They return to the ring and Kaval applies a front facelock. Swagger utilizes a knee lift to send Kaval to the apron and knocks him into the ring barricade; then rams him into it. Swagger applies a double chicken-wing armbar. Kaval stomps the foot to counter but Swagger chucks him to the floor and jogs around the ring. Swagger returns the favor and applies a front facelock and then segues into a backbreaker. Kaval tries comebacks but gets knee lifted and hiptossed across the ring. Swagger hits the running Swagger Bomb on Kaval’s back but Kaval kicks out. Back from commercial, Kaval is in an abdominal stretch. Kaval, very quickly, spins off a stomach breaker into a cross body for two. Impressive. Swagger winds up on the apron so Kaval flip kicks him to the floor. Kaval comes back with a series of kicks. A running corner kick gets two. Kaval misses a springboard move and Swagger hits a 360 belly-to-back suplex. Kaval uses his knee to counter a suplex and kicks Swagger from the apron; Kaval bridge sunset flips back in… for two. Kaval tries to whip, Swagger holds on so Kaval rolling kicks him. Kaval tries a springboard shoulders knee driver but that gets two as well. The Soaring Eagle trips Kaval on the apron and Swagger locks in the ankle lock for the tap out. 7/10 Great television match, cheap ending though.
Clips from the Goldust and Aksana wedding from NXT; Dusty Rhodes and Cody Rhodes are groomsmen. Nice touch. Ted Dibiase, Jr. paid off the minister to object so he could get the Million Dollar Championship back from Goldust. So Dusty Rhodes brings out “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase to complete the marriage. After the vows are completed, Aksana slaps Goldust and leaves. Also, Maxine was eliminated from the competition.
Luke Gallows vs. Vance Archer: Who the hell is face here? Both were turned on by their former partners. These two should form a tag team. Anyway Archer counters a big boot by pulling the top rope down and crotching Gallows; Archer pounds away. Archer hits a second-rope Off-ramp and applies a chicken-wing crossface. Archer hits a unique seated atomic Rock Bottom. Gallows begins a comeback and kicks him in the face, hits a corner splash followed by a short clothesline. Big boot and Gallows PULLS THE STRAPS DOWN; big splash for two. Matt Striker is selling Gallows as the face, I guess that explains it. Gallows hits the Gallows Poll (reverse full nelson bomb) for three. 5.5/10 Another good television match; this one was the antithesis of the previous one. It was a good, short power match, allowed both guys to hit their spots and go home.
Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox: This may be the first singles match I have seen Gail Kim in since her return. They lock up for a stalemate. Alicia winds up with a side headlock countered into arm bar, twice. Gail hits a second-rope crossbody. Alicia uses the hair on a backbreaker to get the advantage; ridiculous Northern Lights suplex by Alicia Fox and then follows up with a nice backdrop. Alicia ties Gail between the top and second rope and chokes her with her boot. Bow-and-arrow by Alicia that Gail counters but a 360 backbreaker puts Alicia back on top. Corner whip by Alicia but she misses the knee and Gail comes up with a powerslam. Gail comes back with a running dropkick and a side press into the corner. Gail, on the apron, uses a unique bell-ring move to floor Alicia; who tries to walk off. Gail retrieves her but Alicia tries to counter into another Northern Lights but Gail slips out and hits Eat Defeat for three. 6.5/10 A good Diva’s match and Gail Kim was involved? Shocking. Why is she not used more?
Mark Henry vs. The Usos (w/Tamina) two-on-one handicap: Jey Uso attacks but Henry counters and sends Jey down. Henry wants Jimmy Uso since he sucker punched Henry last week he even drags Jey over for a tag but Jimmy drops off the apron. Jimmy blind tags in and clips Henry and the Usos beat on him. Jimmy drops a few legs but cannot pin Henry. Jey tags in and hits an off-the-ropes diving head-butt into Henry’s shoulder. Jerry Lawler actually mentions that Mark Henry’s debut match was against himself. I believe it was In Your House 9: Mind Games, the main event was the outstanding Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind WWF title match. Front facelock by Jey; Henry backdrops out. Henry builds momentum and clotheslines a lot. Commentator Scott Stanford mentions when Mark wears the black singlet he is not in a good mood. Little things, little things. Mark misses the Death from Above splash. Tamina gets involved superkicking Henry while he lies half off the apron. Jey hits a jumping kick and tags. Jimmy hits an off-the-top, turn-in-midair Superfly splash for three. 6/10 This was a very good handicap match, Henry should have lost, does not hurt him and it gives the Usos a needed win. Beautiful top-rope splash too.
OVERALL 7/10 Surprising good hour of wrestling; here is where the WWE hides the good television matches.
