Clik here to view.Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder: Tatsu apparently was in Japan promoting SmackDown vs. Raw 2011… for two months? Woo woo woo! Tatsu chops mid woo woo allowing a wooooooo as the final woo. Tatsu roll-up for two; Ryder with an armbar which Tatsu flips out of. A series of dropdowns and leapfrogs lead to a Tatsu arm drag. Zack Ryder tries to toss Yoshi under the bottom rope but he hangs on and dropkicks Zack. Ryder tries to shoulderblock Yoshi’s abdomen from the apron but he counters with a boot and stomps away on the apron. Zack counters and rams Tatsu’s head into the buckle and drops Yoshi down into a hangman’s clothesline. Some choking on the ropes followed by a chinlock by Ryder; desperation sunset flip by Tatsu but Ryder keeps control with a high knee and a back suplex. Ryder and Tatsu battle on the top rope and Ryder winds up with a top-rope superplex. Back from commercial, Yoshi is trapped in a side headlock. He breaks out of it and counters a second-rope hurracanrana from Ryder into a powerbomb. Vince McMahon is referenced in regards to a possible commentator for the Old School Raw this Monday; Josh Matthews mentions he is still in a coma (really?) and Michael Cole, totally forgetting the “coma”, retorts with his commentary won’t be any worse than it was twenty years ago. Burn. Yoshi chops away on Ryder and hits a sloppy handspring elbow, mentioned by Matthews. Yoshi charges into a boot in the corner by Ryder. Back-and-forth match and Ryder misses the Ruff Ryder; Tatsu hits a leg lariat for three. 6.5/10 Anticlimactic bizarre out-of-nowhere finish; rather slow but decent match but the commentary banter made the match.
WWE NXT Highlights.
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Primo (w/A.J.): Much like Zack Ryder last week; Poor Primo. Primo flexes for Big Zeke. Funny. Jackson forearms in the corner and flings Primo across the ring. Primo manages to knock him down and hits a basement dropkick and locks in a front facelock. Sorry Jackson should have won this match by now; I guess tossing Primo a bone considering he’s a pro on NTX helps that show. Big Zeke hits clotheslines and the Book of Ezekiel uranage slam for three. Never mind. 1.5/10 Squash.
Quick Raw recap.
Kaval vs. Drew McIntyre: Kaval debuted for SmackDown, off winning NXT Season 2, verses McIntyre. He still has not won a match yet. Drew stomps in the corner but Kaval head scissor/mule kicks him into a rolling 360 Koppu-like kick and a second-rope rolling neck head scissors to McIntyre. Drew rolls to the floor where Kaval meets him with a springboard top-rope plancha. Kaval tosses him back in and works over the back and drops a lightning quick elbow drop. Drew counters into a self-pressed knee strike. Back form commercial, Drew has Kaval trapped in a chinlock/arm crank hold; Kaval comes back but Drew forces him into the corner and stomps away. Drew wraps Kaval around the ringpost and smirks to the crowd. McIntyre suplexes Kaval from the floor onto the edge of the ring apron; another butterfly lock by Drew. McIntyre continues to stomp away but Kaval comes back with a series of kicks. A running enziguri kick in the corner for Kaval. Drew retains control with a 360 rib breaker but runs into Kaval’s boot in the corner. Drew rolls to the apron to counter the Warrior’s Way; he kicks the rope into Kaval’s crotch as he joins him on the apron. Drew tires the Future Shock DDT onto the steps but Kaval slips out if it to the floor and nails a Koppu kick running back up the ring steps. Kaval misses the Warrior’s Way and Kaval charges right into the Future Shock DDT for three. 5/10 Hard fought match; good story as they are trying to get Kaval’s “WWE inexperience” by being too overzealous; played into the finish.
OVERALL 4/10 Good show as usual two decent passable television matches, some recaps of NXT and Raw and a squash match. Not a bad hour of wrestling.
